Linear Skull Fracture

Abstract

|
Data are given of a series of 100 cases with Linear skull fracture, admitted to the National Medical Center during last 3 years. The series is considered to represent the full range of this type of injury in a densely populated area of Seoul.
The significance of complications like intracranial hematoma and venous sinus involvement is confirmed. Treatment is discussed, especially emergency operation for linear skull fracture with intracranial hematomas. In 33% of cases, emergency operation was performed and 5% of cases were oberseved and operated later. Over-all mortality is 17%, and operation mortality showed 36% (Emergency operation cases).
